Botox® & Vistabel®

What's It Made Of

Botox® / Vistabel® is made from purified Botulinum Toxin Type - A, a neurotoxin produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum.

Clostridium botulinum is a group of rod-shaped bacteria commonly found in the soil that grow best under low oxygen conditions. The bacteria form heat-resistant spores which allow them to survive in a dormant state until exposed to conditions that can support their growth. Clostridium botulinum produces botulinum toxin, a highly potent neurotoxin and the basis of the disease botulism. Seven different serotypes are produced by the bacteria: A, B, C, D, E, F and G. It is purified forms (in this instance A) of these serotypes that form the basis of Botox® & Vistabel®.

Restylane® & Perlane®

What's It Made Of

The Restylane® range is made up of non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is normally produced by the body and is what gives skin its volume and fullness.

Where Can It Be Used

The Restylane® range can be used on the following areas (see picture below for facial feature):

Evolence®

What's It Made Of

The highly purified collagen in Evolence® is derived from porcine (pig) tendons.

Due to their high degree of compatibility with the human body’s immune system, porcine collagen materials are often used in human medicine, e.g., in heart valve replacements, implantable lenses, and surgical wound dressings.

Where Can It Be Used

Evolence® can be used on the following areas (see picture below for facial feature):

Radiesse®

What's It Made Of

Radiesse® is made up of synthetic Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier, which is an aqueous gel that contains sodiumcarboxymethylcellulose, glycerin and high purity water. Radiesse® is approximately 30% CaHA and 70% gel carrier by volume.

Where Can It Be Used

Radiesse® can be used on the following areas (see picture below for facial feature):

Laresse®

What's It Made Of

Laresse® is a new filler gel and is composed of two well-studied, absorbable medical polymers called carboxymethylcellulose and polyethylene oxide.

Laresse® is non-bacterial and non-animal based which the manufacturers claim makes it less likely to cause allergic reactions such as redness, swelling, tenderness and itching. It is also not chemically cross-linked like some hyaluronic acid based filler products, again removing potential allergy and illness causing compounds.

Where Can It Be Used

Laresse® can be used on the following areas (see picture below for facial feature):

Dysport®

What's It Made Of

Dysport® is made from purified Botulinum Toxin Type - A, a neurotoxin produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum.
